Cherish the Past (Spring Island Trilogy, #1) I was kindly gifted this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.I really enjoyed this book It was lovely how Angie took you on the journey of her life including all the ups and downs I found it a little bit predictable along one major event in her life I dont mind being able to figure something out while reading but not from the first couple of chapters Another important milestone had me in floods of tears and had my heartbreaking A few other shocks thrown in This is a great debut novel about the struggles and triumphs of one woman trying to find herself.Angie has lived all her life feeling that her husband Alex is the love of her life and that she can t live without him He is always away due to work and leaves her alone to take care of their home and children.Angie starts taking matters into her own hands after several years of this routine and so begins her process of becoming self sufficient It is wonderful to see that even though she s no longer young by society s standards, she doesn t let this situation deter her from following her dreams. She goes through so much pain and suffering A tragic event hits her deep and she pretty much handles it on her own Alex is not always there for her and she finds herself at a loss Her best friend Liz has also changed with the years and she can t always depend on her. When two huge secrets to her hit her at the same time, she feels completely shattered and is ready to move on with PDF Epub Cherish The Past Spring Island Trilogy, 1 Author Sandra Healing Steiner New Books.run Angie Sighed A Small Smile Began To Form As She Recalled The Moments That Led Up To This Incredible Feeling Life Was Good No, Life Was Amazing It Hadn T Always Been, But Today At Forty Six, It Sure Was She Had Reached A Good Space In Her Life She Was Content, In Love, At Peace With Her Past, And Excited About Her Future Tomorrow She Was Marrying Her Soul Mate She Had Nearly Given Up Hoping She Would Find Him He Had Actually Prayed That She Would Find Him Before His Birthday Or So He Said, And She Had No Reason Not To Believe Him As She Sat On The Beach Watching The Waves Roll In, The Memories Of A Lifetime Came Crashing In, Reminding Her To Cherish The Past. ARC provided on behalf of the author for an honest review Life was good No life was amazing When we read that we thought awesome this book is going to be good, which it was a good book.Angie is a 46 year old that goes back over the past 29 years of her life from when she was 16 right up to the present, she goes through a bit of heart ache from her cheating husband, the devastation of losing a child and then finds her long lost brother, then finds true love I can t believe she didn t relies her husband was cheating with the best friend It was a good book but We would have loved we would have loved detail of emotions like the part about her daughter s death it did explain how she sort of went downhill but we would have loved of them parts in the book I guess of a description, of the part where she finds out about her cheating husband it seemed to just skim over the issue which is good we just want to feel it tho, take us to that place I think this book would have been great with , don t get us wrong was well written by Sandra Steiner had a great story line, we just feel like it could be a massive hit if there was we didn t feel like we were there at the time it was just like reading someone s life story who had been dealt a shitty hand in life but defies the odds and finds that happy ending we just weren t in the moment.I loved the part at the end when she does meet true love after everything Angie had been through she deserved to be happy and deserved a grea Brilliant debut novel Firstly I can not bring myself to wish anyone to go through the hell that main character Angie went through. You first go through her first marriage with high school sweet heart Alex, they have 3 beautiful children and her best friend Liz is pregnant at the same time as her They are like sisters than best friends Unfortunately marriage is hard for everyone and Angie s and Alex s marriage is put through the ringer, Angie goes through life heart break after heart break, her children are her rock and keep her going throughout Tragedy is met for this family and decisions have to be made Feeling like she is losing everything she loved in the town she lives in she makes a big leap of faith and decides it s time to move Her family are supportive of her decision and help her to make it Moving to a small island, she finally lets herself think about her and along with her trust companion Candy she starts to make life for herself. But i Cherish The Past is a reflection of Angie s life A story about her struggles and how she never gave up hope The book covers a lot of ground twenty nine years from her leaving high school, up until just before her second wedding her happy ever after. What can I say Angie is one strong, independent woman What she has to endure is definitely not for the weak and faint heated Her ability to just keep going despite having to deal with a deceitful and cheating husband, the ultimate betrayal of a friend and the tragic premature death of a child is formidable Where most would want to just give up and cave in, Angie keeps going by focusing on the positives, paving a way to a better life and future for herself and family. The story is well written in a narrative style The author is very good at setting a scene and bringing the places she describes to life However, there is something is missing emotions, to bring the characters to life I wanted to feel Angie s p When I sat down to read this book, I wasn t expecting how good of a book I was getting into I started reading in the evening and I was done that very night You get really caught up in the lives of the characters The main character Angie has had a very rough life The book takes us from the age of 18 through her first marriage Which she basically lived through hell Her first husband Alex was a horrible, horrible man She had the strength to move on and the life she lead afterwards was for her children Trust me Angie was way too good for the likes of Alex She pushed through and dissolved the first marriage and what happened to her right afterwards Angie only got stronger as the book went on, this poor woman had a lot of curve balls thrown at her and she came out the other side stronger and happier for it This book doesn t have hot sex and romance This is a story of one Let s start off by saying that this was a very good debut From the very first page, I was captured by the story We first meet Angie, a strong, enduring, and caring woman We see her on the wedding day of her second marriage and she begins to tell the readers about her past life experiences Now, this book is heavy It will stir some very emotional feelings out of you There were parts of the story that were a struggle for me to get through Not because I didn t enjoy it, but because I connected with Angie and I understood what she went through She details her life after high school and mostly her first marriage which was very dark There were times when I had to put the book down, only because, it became too much for me But after enduring the harsh moments, I managed to finish the book and feel happy It s hard to explain really but a I received an ARC from the author for an honest review This story is very different from what I am used to reading I connected with the main character Angie, but for me the story was something that was narrated to you rather than you experiencing it I just read Angie s story, I didn t feel or live it Don t get me wrong it is not a bad thing, but there was no dialogue really between characters All of the book is narrated in third person from Angie s perspective I goes through the entirety of her life from when she was just about 18 to her present day when she is about to get married for the second time I will say that there are some pretty heavy emotions that go along with reading this book Angie is a survivor and she hasn t always lead the most amazing life, but the life that she did lead was all for her children I felt her pain when she was in her first marriage and all that she had to overcome Her first husband, Alex is just an awful man and Angie was too good for the likes of him I also could not believe what her parents had revealed later in the story, but I did see the ultimate demise in her first marriage I was glad to see that she was getting stronger and was able to handle the end of her marriage It was hard having to read what she went through shortly after and that she was now on the opposite end of a situation she never Cherish the Past Spring Island Trilogy Part One takes the reader on the journey of Angie s life Told in third person, the book starts with Angie thinking back on her life since age 18 and all the heartache, tragedy, love and joy that brought her to her current point in life.Angie is a very strong, selfless character, able to endure heartbreak and betrayal, without becoming cynical and careless herself The author paints a realistic picture of a young woman basically raising three children by herself, trying to make a happy home, because her husband is busy with, let s just say, other endeavors The patience and forgiveness that her mother told her were so essential to a marriage foreshadowed Angie s marital life The setting of Spring Island is described in lush, vibrant terms, making me want to take a ferry out there myself It s a piece of paradise on earth, and our protagonist deserves it.The author chose to tell the story without any dialog between the characters she opted to recap what the characters said or thought in a narrative style As a reader, I missed reading dialog between the characters and hearing their voices I think it would have been particularly effective when Angie discovered the ultimate reason why her husband was leaving her and when her parents confided their long held secret to her I also would have
